RACE 1 - 1:37PM Long's Sand & Metal Benchmark 58 Handicap (2500 METRES)

Peter Blanch has two leading chances here. MUFFLA finally got the job done at Oakbank last time out in good fashion, maps well, while AZZUREOUS was scratched from Saturday in preference to this. His best form is good enough to winning here and he gets his chance to regain some form. Has a good barrier with Todd Pannell riding. TURF MAN was a winner here two starts back before only battling behind Resurge last time. THE RED SEA mixes form but won well at Penola two starts back, PLYMPTON was an Oakbank winner in December and is worth some thought.

SELECTIONS: 1 AZZUREOUS, 3 Muffla, 2 Turf Man, 4 The Red Sea

PLAY: AZZUREOUS gets his chance back in class even with the weight.

RACE 2 - 2:12PM Beachy’s Mannum Hotel Maiden Plate (900 METRES)

STARS THE LIMIT was a $1.55 favourite when beaten into 3rd behind Kasami here last start. His first two runs were both very good for a race like this and he gets his chance. SET TO ROCK ran well at odds to run 2nd behind Lamoree at Oakbank last time and that form looks OK for a race like this. TWO TIMES TWICE has jumped out OK and must be respected in the David Jolly stable. POCKET RAIDER trialled nicely behind Lime Spider at Penola. CROWN MOSHE won a recent Strathalbyn trial but draws wide for her debut.

SELECTIONS: 3 STARS THE LIMIT, 8 Set To Rock, 4 Two Times Twice, 7 Crown Moshe

PLAY: Happy to take the short price STARS THE LIMIT.

RACE 3 - 2:47PM Magic Millions SA Raceday - 5 March Maiden Plate (1400 METRES)

REVUE was a short-priced favourite but failed to fire at Oakbank beaten three lengths behind Lamoree. Hard to ignore the market support last time, he draws wide, but the blinkers go on and the McEvoy stable have a great record here. YELLOW IDOL was OK behind Race Against time at Morphettville at her first run in SA and then had her chance when beaten by Charm Slinga last time. MISS AMANAP made good ground behind Water Into Wine last time and looks nicely placed here. Victorian horseman Henry Dwyer comes to a rare midweek SA meeting with TARZ LE ROSE who hasn’t done a lot in two starts but must be kept safe. STARLOCKET blew in betting like a leg had fallen off ($2.50 to $6.50) and ran accordingly beaten 12.3 lengths at Oakbank last week.

SELECTIONS: 6 REVUE, 14 Yellow Idol, 9 Miss Amanap, 13 Tarz Le Rose

PLAY: REVUE can hit back here.

RACE 4 - 3:22PM Murraylands Fire & Safety Benchmark 58 Handicap (1000 METRES)

TWO ODD SOX gets his chance here coming off a solid 2nd behind Desired. He made good ground from the back. YEELANNA draws to get a nice run behind the speed here and was a Balaklava winner back in September and should run well. MAGIC DELTA was OK in the same race beaten 2.7 lengths and is another drawn a nice barrier. SANBUCK was a Port Lincoln winner two starts back and GENERAL MINT comes off a last-start Oakbank win. DESTINY’S REPUBLIC could be an improver second-up for Matt Seyers. He won three on end in Victoria beck in July and this is a drop in class on his first local run behind Appalachian. MAJESTIC MISSILE is now with Travis Doudle but has failed in three starts here.

SELECTIONS: 6 TWO ODD SOX, 8 Yeelanna, 5 Magic Delta

PLAY: Keen on TWO ODD SOX here with Todd Pannell back on.

RACE 5 - 4:02PM Murdoch Insurance Brokers Benchmark 54 Handicap (1600 METRES)

Open race. MUG’S GAME was well backed at odds and led before being grabbed late by Aussie Sojourn last time, LE DUPE was OK in the same race beaten just 2.2 lengths. ALPHA RAIDER went to Port Lincoln and won his maiden nicely, he draws the inside and rises in class but has the Ben Price claim. SPY COLONEL ran well last time after leading behind Ambidazzle at Strathalbyn and the Paula Trenwith stable is going well. HARBOURING is always around the mark, while PERSIAN EMPIRE could be the improver at double figure odds. ANTIPAS is another right in the market and is a winner here.

SELECTIONS: 8 MUG’S GAME, 9 Le Dupe, 1 Alpha Raider, 3 Spy Colonel.

PLAY: Happy to sit this out.

RACE 6 - 4:42PM Rainforest Retreat Class Two Handicap (1400 METRES)

ST JUST looked a touch unlucky at Oakbank behind General Mint when held-up at a vital stage. She won well at Gawler first-up and must be given some thought here. Jason Holder going on is a plus. YULONG JUSTIFY is the interesting runner. He won his first two at Pakenham but his two runs this time in work have been fair at best. He was beaten 7 lengths at Warrnambool last time out but gets the blinkers here. CAPTAIN SOLO has good form for a race like this chasing home Equichunk and Miss Langtry at Strathalbyn his past two. YE HELLA was game behind an in-form Miss Langtry at Strathalbyn last time. STRATESSA was runner-up at Ballarat four starts and can run well here. HALLAROSTE won a Gawler maiden at the end of last preparation, stablemate ENLIST can show up in a race like this.

SELECTIONS: 10 ST JUST, 1 Yulong Justify, 4 Captain Solo, 2 Ye Hella

PLAY: ST JUST is a solid each-way play here.

RACE 7 - 5:22PM Bryan Guy Memorial Benchmark 54 Handicap (1200 METRES)

Tricky way to end the day. BACK POCKET ran well first-up from a spell behind Geandge at Strathalbyn. He draws out but is worth a ticket at the double figure odds. CONCONI has been in the top two in all five runs here. She stuck on OK behind The Trance Factor at Oakbank last time, the winner doing so again since. HE WILL BOOM ran well behind St Just at Gawler two runs back and chased home Leanne last time, the runner-up Cool Magnum winning in city class since. MADE IN MILAN is fitter and ready to improve. BIGNOTA was a Balaklava winner at odds three starts back.

SELECTIONS: 10 BACK POCKET, 11 Conconi, 1 He Will Boom

PLAY: Happy to back BACK POCKET at the double figures.
